Li Family at Central Park.

They made a request that I didn't totally follow... This was my first time hanging out with this adorable little family, and it was also my first time taking photos in this area of Central Park in Burnaby, and I'm so so happy with this location and the images we got! Right off the bat, I could tell we were going to have a great time as I could read the great energy coming off of this family. And ohhhh, when they picked up their little girl...the smiles on mom and dad's face were priceless.  They told me at the beginning of the session that they wanted mostly photos of the baby. Don't blame them, she is SOOO cute and OMG so many smiles!! BUT, I ended up taking quite a few of all three of them. I did this for a few reasons.  1. It was still winter and cold out, and the baby was not sitting on her own yet. So my options were limited on what types of photos I could take of her on her own without involving the parents. I took a lot of close-ups of her while her parents held her and I did do some with her in the stroller and of course, I put her down in the ferns!! Haha but really, I did, and they are 2 of my favorite photos in this gallery! But when kids are that young and you're outdoors when it's cold... it can be very challenging to get lots of variation of them!  2. I don't know 100% why they wanted to focus on the baby, but if I could guess it would be because she is so stinking adorable and they want lots of pics of her!! But perhaps there were other reasons like not thinking they are photogenic, camera-shy, never like photos of themselves, etc.  I don't want to assume BUT, I have been doing this for ten years now, and I know a few things ;)  3. I can not stress enough how important it is to have photos of your kids AND you together. It's not just for you; it's for the kids!! 10, 20, 30 years down the road, they will want to see you when you were young and know the love you share as a family during those first years! So, that's why I made sure to get some fantastic candid shots of them and smily at the camera shots.  They may not have asked for any family photos... but I hope they love them. I sure do and I sure know the value and importance of them! When I take photos, I like to get as much variation as I can, and that allows me to get all of the fun and cozy family moments close up and zoomed out!  Oh, and Peiyao (momma) LOVES animals, so as there were a million squirrels at this park, we had to get some shots with those cuties as well lol!!  In the end, I hope the family loves the shots I got and I hope the family shots I took melt their hearts as they did mine!  Thanks for reading!  :) LL
